Product Development in China

 

Terms and Conditions

Prior to product development we assist to agree terms and conditions between all parties. We have broad experience of the terms that are needed to protect your interests, but can also work with lawyers in China who can draw up the specific details you require. Due to the recent fluctuations in exchange rates and commodity prices it is essential to reach agreement on how this will affect your interests in future.

 

Tooling/Development Costs

We have helped develop over 2,000 different tools in China over the last 14 years, varying in price from £150 to £200,000. At this stage customers normally show their first financial commitment in the form of development costs or tooling.

 

We can offer assistance if your products are not fully designed and developed, but this is a chargeable service.

 

We will discuss terms and ensure you are clear about factors such as tool ownership, transfer policy, tool life, tool maintenance, arbitration and sampling. We can also provide technical support on tooling development.

 

Monitoring

We monitor all developments and update you on a regular basis. This is carried out by our Shanghai office and will be emailed through to you. Our roles vary from project to project, but many of the management and communication skills needed are common whether making automotive tooling or electronic products. We operate a Project Planning system which includes all aspects of a project – details can be discussed prior to work starting.

 

Sampling

One Point Two will support sample development and provide you with full technical analysis of your samples to ensure conformity. We are generally developing 20-30 different products at any time, and have the procedures and experience to handle this.

 

Production

We can offer a full inspection and report service carried out by qualified professionals. Details of the level of inspection vary and your requirements can be discussed in advance.

 

Our aim is to get you products that meet you criteria on time every time. The reality in manufacturing wherever you make products can be somewhat different and we will aim to provide you with full information in order to make decisions on how to react to situations. We cannot always predict what the problems will be, but will work for our customers to solve them. One Point Two will provide you with all the relevant information, good or bad, as we are working for you.

 

We offer an Online Planning Schedule (OPS) which are constantly updated, and can demonstrate an example to potential customers.
